Terms & Conditions
Introduction
The following terms and conditions represent the basis upon which driving lessons and courses are offered to you by The Drivers Academy
1) General Conduct
We are bound by a professional code of conduct. We will be courteous, polite and punctual. We will behave in a professional and ethical manner at all times. All cars are fitted with dual-controls as part of standard equipment. The cars will be well maintained, clean and tidy. The cars are fully insured for driving tuition. For the safety, comfort and to comply with the law, no-one will be able to smoke in the cars, nor will your lesson time be used for another form of business, personal or otherwise.
2) Qualifications
Our driving instructors are fully qualified by the Driver & Vehicle standards agency (DVSA) to give driving tuition for motor cars. The manager Mathew Evans has passed the DIAmond advanced motorists test, has a presentations certificate and also has a NVQ level 3 in driving tuition. He is also licensed for the Pass Plus scheme.
3) Driving license and eyesight
The learner must hold a current, valid driving licence (provisional or full), which must be produced on or in advance of their first lesson. The learner must also check that they can read a number plate at a distance of 20.5 meters / 57feet (i.e. about 5 car lengths) with or without glasses. If glasses need to be worn to read the number plate, they must be always be worn whenever driving.
4) Payments
Please note payments are to be made on the day or in advanced of the training. If you are booking a course, a 50% deposit is required at the time of booking, and the remainder on or before your first lesson. Please note the deposit or any other training fees paid are not refundable once your training has started. Please also note that a full refund will be given if we are unable to meet any special requirements that you have, that you told us about in advance.
5) Lesson postponement
Provided we can easily obtain additional work for any lessons postponed no penalty will be incurred. If very late notice is given we reserve the right to, at our total discretion, to charge the full lesson fee. We reserve the right to postpone lessons if we feel the weather or road conditions are unsuitable or dangerous. we cannot be held responsible for any costs incurred as a result of us having to postpone any lessons for whatever reason.
